The WKRC Cincinnati commercial breaks are the archive item here. The TV movie itself is available on streaming and DVD. But the Cincinnati market ads from 1989 are not preserved anywhere. Epic Waves perm kit got two different spots — one version has been found on Dailymotion from a KTLA May 1989 recording, but the second variant with bizarre masks may be unique. The Wes Studi RC Cola ad is a pre-fame appearance from three years before Last of the Mohicans, and no video of it has been found anywhere online. Q102 QZOO Birthday Game promo from Cincinnati radio: zero preserved copies anywhere.
The rest of the commercial inventory is a solid late-80s Cincinnati cross-section. Chevy Lumina paired with an MGM Theme Park promotion. KFC with a “Hit the Road Jack” parody. BB King in a McDonald’s McChicken ad. Ford Ranger with its 1989 tagline. Hardee’s Garden Fresh Salads from a menu they no longer run. A Japanese train advertisement that is simply unexplained. Channel 12 Cincinnati bumpers throughout. The tape condition was unknown at acquisition but came through digitization intact, raw file 17.3 GB.
