The handwritten label says: Something Wicked This Way Comes.
Which is either the 1983 Disney dark fantasy based on Ray Bradbury’s novel, or it’s something the previous owner called by that name for reasons we’ll never know.
About This Tape
If it is the 1983 film, that’s an interesting one. Disney made it, which was unusual — it’s genuinely dark. Jonathan Pryce plays a carnival barker who offers people exactly what they want, and the price is exactly what you’d expect. Jason Robards plays the father. It bombed on release and built its following quietly, the way those films do.
The film is available on Disney+ and has been for a while, so this is a home recording of something you can find. The tape itself is in good condition. Fuji HQ stock, six-hour capacity at EP speed, no sleeve damage worth noting.
What we don’t know yet: whether that’s actually what’s on here. The label is handwritten. Home recordings get mislabeled. The tape gets opened when it gets opened.
