About This Tape
Wolfen is the 1981 horror film starring Albert Finney. Urban wolves, Morricone-influenced score, mid-range cult status. It’s been on Blu-ray, it’s been on streaming. That one you can find.
I Desire is different. It’s a 1982 ABC TV movie — officially titled I, Desire — about a law student working as a coroner’s assistant who starts investigating what looks like a vampire operating in Los Angeles. David Naughton is the lead, year after An American Werewolf in London. Brad Dourif is in it.
Lost Media
I, Desire never got an official DVD or any digital release. It’s on the Internet Archive under “Desire, the Vampire” — one low-quality TV recording, the same kind of thing we have here. No streaming platform carries it. What exists is grey-market DVD-R burns and that one Archive.org rip. This Sony recording may predate the Archive copy. The tape hasn’t been opened yet.
Whether this has commercials, whether the recording is clean, whether both films are complete — all of that is unknown until the tape gets played.
