They Call Me Mister Tibbs! and Midnight Cowboy share a handwritten label here. One title sounds like a fellow announcing himself at the door; the other is the film in which a cowboy arrives in New York and finds a rather different city than he imagined. Somebody paired them and wrote down 108 and 113 minutes. I'd like to see whether the recording follows the label before I give this double feature a theme.
On the label
- THEY CALL (illegible) ME MISTER TIBBS: handwritten 108 min; film title is a reading of partly illegible label text.
- MIDNIGHT COWBOY: handwritten 113 min; AFI catalogs a 1969 film with 111- or 113-minute durations, without establishing this tape’s cut.
Tape details
The noted film runtimes are label text only; neither a tape speed nor recording date is established. Midnight Cowboy is a 1969 film, not a date for this copy.
Home recording on VHS. Not yet streamed. Archive ID: VHS-2026-1306.
