This tape moves through a few months of Columbus daytime TV in 1999: a WGN rerun of Soul Train, Jerry Springer, a fragment of Sally Jesse Raphael, Jenny Jones, and The Young and the Restless. The programs come from different recording sessions.
Soul Train brings Pee Wee Mag 7 and Tamia, then hands off to a long run of commercials. There is a McDonald’s Monopoly promotion with a Corvette convertible, a GEICO ad where a cart drives out of the water, Hills Department Store’s storewide blowout, National Check Cashers, and MyCarCo on Westerville Road. Full House is coming up at 5 on WGN. Xena is sponsored by Mitsubishi Motors. Normal television, held together with tape.
The Jerry Springer segment has ABC 6 bumpers, Value City Furniture, DeVry, Ricart Ford, and an injury helpline around an episode whose exact subject is still unclear. Jenny Jones has its own Columbus mix: Mattress Mart, the Columbus ParaProfessional Institute, This Week Classifieds, Red, White & Boom, the Columbus Bar Association, Bill Swad Chevrolet, and Sears Dental at Tuttle Crossing Mall. The episode is labeled “Goth Transformations” in the notes, but that title has not been confirmed.
There is also part of a Young and the Restless episode on WBNS, with a Channel 10 promo for its new Chopper 10, a Red Lobster shrimp dinner, Fabio selling I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, and an Unsolved Mysteries exorcism promo. Elsewhere on the tape, Jerry Springer has a used-car lot ad built around a man popping his eyes out. Somebody approved that too.
The tape was streamed on January 6, 2026. Exact air dates and episode identities for several segments remain unresolved.
