Easyriders: 95 Years of Thunder (1998)

Half a million people rode to Milwaukee in 1998 for Harley-Davidson’s 95th anniversary. Easyriders magazine sent a crew with cameras and produced this tape. “95 Years of Thunder.” Paisano Publications, the company behind Easyriders, released it on their home video label. The tape picked up a Half Price Books sticker at some point ($7.49, dated September 26, 2023) before ending up at Furniture with a Heart in Columbus, where it entered the archive in January 2026.

The 95th Anniversary Reunion was one of the largest motorcycle gatherings in American history. The documentary rides with the Easyriders crew through the event, covering the rally, the culture, and the machines. Easyriders was the magazine of record for Harley culture from its founding in 1970 through decades of biker counterculture, and by 1998 the brand had crossed over into mainstream American identity. The 95th anniversary sat at that inflection point: old-school biker culture meeting the broader Harley lifestyle market that would define the 2000s.

This tape has not been streamed yet. Copies circulate on collector marketplaces but no streaming or digital version exists. It is a commercial release, Hi-Fi Stereo, color, in good condition. The motorcycle culture documentary category is underrepresented in the archive, which makes this one worth holding.
