Ruth and Elaine’s Tape

The label on this tape has two names on it: Ruth and Elaine. That is everything we know. A Scotch EG T-120 sleeve holding a TDK EHG cassette — mismatched, which is a detail that usually means someone grabbed whatever was nearby. The handwriting is only partially legible. The tape came from eBay in November 2025 and has not been opened on stream.

Most mystery tapes have at least a date, a TV show, a location. This one gives you two names and a question mark. Ruth and Elaine could be the people who made the tape or the people it was made for. The TDK EHG inside the Scotch sleeve suggests the original recording cassette got swapped at some point — either re-shelved incorrectly or deliberately put in a different case. The condition is fair. The six-hour EP runtime means whatever is on this tape could be a lot.

This is the kind of tape that either contains something completely ordinary or something genuinely unusual, and there is no way to know without playing it. It has not been streamed yet. When it gets opened, the names Ruth and Elaine will either become context or remain the whole story.
