Craig’s notes
I put on a tape marked “Music Video” and found The MTV 500. I got Bon Jovi at number 425 and LL Cool J doing “Going Back to Cali” at 424. I tried to skip ahead, but fast-forward on this SLP recording kept knocking the picture out of alignment. I stopped rather than fight the tape all night. No commercials showed up in the part I reached. There’s more to watch.
On this tape
- The MTV 500: No. 425, Bon Jovi. The song was not identified.
- The MTV 500: No. 424, LL Cool J, “Going Back to Cali.”
The handwritten label says “Music Video.” Viewed in part August 26, 2026; the rest remains unwatched. The precise 1997 airing and recording date are unknown.
