John Carpenter set Escape from New York in 1997, when Manhattan is a prison and Snake Plissken has to get the president out. This MGM Movie Time tape calls its picture a DIGITAL VIDEO TRANSFER. A future set in 1997, sold on VHS with a promise of digital video. I haven’t watched this copy yet, so the label gets the last word on how it looks.
