The back of this sleeve gets unusually specific about what it takes to make a bowl. Before Del Stubbs gets to the shape, there are chisels to grind, a blank to mount and a lathe to set up. It even mentions keeping thin walls from warping. I haven’t watched this tape yet, but I like that the description spends so much time on the decisions that happen before a finished bowl exists. If I ever try it, the close-up of the cutting edge against the wood might be the part I need most.
