Craig’s notes
We put this tape on expecting Lake Placid, The Thomas Crown Affair and Deep Blue Sea. Instead it opened with Cash Explosion on Columbus’s WBNS-10. I thought the lottery show was a better find than the movie on the label.
Why record this particular episode? I wondered if the person recording knew a contestant. Then I wondered if the person recording was a contestant. It’s a theory I had while watching, not something the tape proves, and I can’t connect this copy to anyone on the show.
The drawings are surrounded by local ads for Ricart, Prime Outlets Jeffersonville and Scioto Valley, plus 10TV promos. Near the end I caught a brief glimpse of what I identified as The Thomas Crown Affair. At the time I said someone had recorded Cash Explosion over Lake Placid, and I thought that was a good call. That’s how it looked to me, not proof of what used to be on the earlier part of the tape.
We stopped at the movie glimpse. I don’t know how much of the labeled movies remains beyond it.
