The spine says Walt Disney World, Fourth of July, Mickey's Birthday, 1988. What played first for us was a Fox 45 Dayton kids' broadcast, not a long Disney park recording. The Harlem Globetrotters ad put them at the Nutter Center on December 26, and I started worrying that the label and the broadcast weren't from the same time. DuckTales followed, so I kept hoping the Disney part might still turn up.
The breaks were good even while that hope faded. There was a Golden Grahams rock-poster jingle, Burger King Kids Club material, and a Tyco Hot Keyz synthesizer I wanted immediately. Tyco also had racing trains. Home Alone and Edward Scissorhands promos made the holiday-season setting harder to ignore. A Fox 45 Kids Club birthday announcement appeared too. Then I saw a brief change in the recording and thought I caught something park-related, but it was too short to identify confidently.
The tape moved on to Shag on The Movie Channel, which I skimmed rather than watched as a full movie. I couldn't believe somebody had recorded over what the spine described. There may be a few surviving seconds of Disney-looking footage, but they don't verify the handwritten event or the character identification in the catalog. The Fox 45 commercials are the part I can describe with confidence.
