The Rockford Files was on WBNS, and I remembered liking the show even though I couldn't tell you a single plot. I was waiting for the commercial breaks. When I thought a Diet 7-Up ad had finally arrived, the picture jumped to Jurassic World. I was shocked. We'd just been wondering what the newest recording we'd ever found on VHS might be, and there it was, cutting into this Rockford rerun. I kept asking what had happened, when Jurassic World came out, and whether somebody had recorded over the show by accident. I was so excited for that Diet 7-Up ad, too.
When The Rockford Files came back, I had to check we'd really jumped back. The ads resumed: a second Infiniti I30 spot, a Bissell vacuum picking up moon dust, McDonald's Monopoly, a dancing RadioShack phone and WBNS news teases. I called it the Jurassic Files. There's more tape to watch.
