Craig’s notes
I called this the daytime TV hopscotch tape because it wouldn't sit still. We'd get Sally Jessy Raphael, then Joan Rivers, then Sally again, and eventually The Home Show. Jeff Smith put gravy on fried chicken and I wasn't buying it. Wendy Brackman made clothes out of paper plates, including a bee. Somebody recording daytime TV kept changing their mind about what to watch.
The Cleveland breaks made the jumps worth following. There was a WMMS VaVoom contest, local ads, Fred Griffith on Morning Exchange, and a Wheel of Fortune promo with puppet Wheelies. On Regis and Kathie Lee, Sister Peggy Murphy sang and tap-danced. Later Rusty Staub made burgers while I watched his hands get a little too comfortable around raw meat. The Home Show taught us to bake a cake inside an orange. I wanted to see that work; the result looked like plain cake with a hint of orange.
When I finally got back to this VHS, it was still going from Regis to The Home Show. More fireworks, insulation, leggings and vacation crafts, then one last run of commercials. I thought there might be more tape, but that was the end. It's possible the rest of the show is on another VHS; this one stops there.
