About This Tape
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is the 1948 Universal horror-comedy with Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolf Man, and Bela Lugosi as Dracula. The Wolf Man tries to warn a baggage handler that Dracula wants his brain transplanted into Frankenstein’s monster. The baggage handler is Lou Costello.
This MCA/Universal Home Video release is widely available on streaming platforms, on Archive.org, and on Blu-ray through Universal. No preservation concerns here.
John C Newlan watched this film, labeled his tape, and presumably put it on a shelf. Decades later it ended up in a thrift store in Ohio. That is the whole story.
